A Carson Middle School student was arrested late Monday night for making threats on social media.
The student allegedly sent multiple threatening messages to other students.
After an investigation the suspect was positively identified. Deputies with the Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded to the location and apprehended the juvenile on suspicion of making terroristic threats. The juvenile was transported to the Carson City Juvenile Detention Center to face the felony charge.
“CCSO would like to thank the members of the community for reporting the incident. The suspect has been taken into custody,” a press release said. “There are no outstanding suspects or further threats to the Carson City School District.
“CCSO also would like to remind the community that threats are be taken seriously. Parents and guardians, please have these conversations with juveniles that these threats of violence have real consequences.”
