There is much change and uncertainty in our world these days. You may have thought about where you can find a place of refuge, protection, security, confidence and hope.

Where will we look to find a place of trust? The options are many, but actually can be boiled down to just two, we can trust in man, or we can trust in God.

Trusting in man has to do with finding a place of confidence, security and protection in such things as our abilities, our resources, or our contacts — who we are and what we can do, what we have or can get our hands on, or who we know and what they can do for us.

On the other hand, we can trust in God. Let’s look at a few verses from scripture that will help us understand what it means to trust in God.

Trusting God has to do with KNOWING HIM:

“And those who know your name will put their trust in you; for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:10

Trusting God has to do with LEARNING HIS WAYS:

“As for God, his way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; he is a shield to all who trust in him.” Psalm 18:30

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in him, and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5

Trusting in the Lord has to do with SAFETY AND PROTECTION:

“And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.” Psalm. 37:40

Trusting the Lord has to do with CONFIDENCE:

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalm 118:8

Trusting in the Lord has to do with SEEKING HIS WISDOM AND TRUSTING HIS LEADING:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

As for me and my house, we will trust in God… how about you?
