Bishop Manogue High School baseball (20-4, 11-0 in Class 5A North league play) took the season series from Douglas High School with a 9-2 win in Minden on Thursday.

Luke Main and Jeffrey Peters had two-hit performances while Blaine Bilderback also recorded a base hit.

Jackson Ovard had Douglas’ lone RBI.

Grayson Kamper threw two innings of relief and struck out four.

UP NEXT: Douglas (8-13, 4-7) took on Carson High (8-17, 2-9) on Tuesday before hosting Damonte Ranch (2-15, 1-11) on Thursday.


TIGER TRACK AND FIELD RUN NORTHWEST INVITE

The Douglas High boys and girls track and field teams were in action last weekend at McQueen High School in the Northwest Invite.

On the girls side, the Tigers finished seventh with 42.33 points.

The Douglas boys were 13th of 23 teams with 20 points.

Grace Strabala-Karosich won the 200-meter dash in 26.34 and took seventh in the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, seven inches.

Sophomore Amy Van Wagenen took sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 12:23.84.

In the 4x100 relay, Anna Patmont, Alexsa Reyes, Bryani Ono and Strabala-Karosich finished second in 50.12.

The 4x800 team of Lucy Nord, Ayla Nelson Taylor Chase and Krystle Dixon crossed the line in third in 10:16.10.

Stella White set a personal record in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet, nine inches to take third.

Luke Davis ran a 2:03.80 in the boys 800 to take fifth. The senior set a personal record in the 1,500 with a 4:11.21, taking second.

TIGER SOFTBALL WITH ONE GAME THIS WEEK

Douglas High softball (17-7, 8-3 in Class 5A North league play) was at home Tuesday against Galena (7-18-1, 2-9).

It was the Tigers’ lone game of the week.

They’ll return to action Tuesday against McQueen (15-11, 6-5).
