Carson City man arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and domestic violence

A Carson City man was arrested Friday in Reno after a domestic disturbance earlier in the week.

On Feb. 10, deputies responded to the 1200 block of North Curry Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Deputies gathered information from the victim and learned she identified the suspect as her ex-boyfriend as Matthew Alexander Mann. The victim told deputies that she had an active protection order against Mann.

Video footage from the area showed Mann approaching the victim near her vehicle and opened her driver side car door. Mann physically moved the victim to the area between the car door and driver seat. Mann prevented the victim from freely moving on her own will. Mann grabbed the victim’s purse to steal it, but he was not successful.

Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mann for the charges of attempted robbery, false imprisonment, violation of a temporary protection order, and domestic battery.

Detectives received information he contacted the victim via telephone on Feb. 13 and threatened to shoot her since she talked to law enforcement.

On Friday, detectives located Mann at a residence in Reno where he was ultimately taken into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of : Attempted robbery; false Imprisonment; domestic battery; and violating a domestic violence temporary protection order.

His bail is set at $100,000 bondable.
