Carson High School girls basketball closed out a league win over McQueen with some clutch baskets down the stretch.
Lauren Finnerty hit a crucial bucket as the clock wound down, allowing the Senators pulled off a 53-48 win over the Lancers.
Monday, Carson fell against Spanish Springs, 52-27.

CARSON WRESTLING GRABS SILVER AT PLACER DUALS
The Senator wrestling team is finding its stride at the right time of year after taking second place at the Placer Duals this weekend.
The only dual loss for Carson came in the championship dual match against Bay Area private school powerhouse De La Salle.
The Senators and the Spartans were tied at 32-all with two matches to go, but both of the final matches went in favor of De La Salle.
The Spartans won the championship, 44-32.
To open the tournament, Carson defeated West Park B, 74-6. In the second round, the Senators cruised past Lincoln, 71-6.
In the third round of the opening portion, Carson bested host Placer, 51-29, which advanced the Senators into the semifinals.
Carson faced off against Granite Bay in the semi’s, which went down to the wire on team points before the Senators pulled out a 45-35 win.
UP NEXT: Carson wrestling (3-1 in league duals) traveled down to Minden on Tuesday to grapple with its oldest rival, Douglas (4-2) in a league triangular dual. Bishop Manogue (1-4) was the third team in attendance.
Thursday, the Senators will be in another triangular at Damonte Ranch (3-1) that includes the Mustangs and Reed (1-2), which is a make-up date from earlier in the season.

CARSON BOYS LOSE TO MCQUEEN
Carson and McQueen boys basketball were both 2-6 in the Class 4A North league standings going into Friday night’s game in Reno.
It was the Lancers who came out on the winning end with a 65-49 victory over the Senators.
Japheth Banko led the charge for Carson with a team-high 18 points. Jaren Thornburg added eight in the loss while Landon Hoff tallied seven points of his own.
Monday, Spanish Springs bested the Senators, 61-18.
UP NEXT: Carson (7-12, 2-7) hosted Spanish Springs (14-4, 10-0) on Monday night before playing at home against Wednesday against Reno (12-7, 5-5).
DAYTON BOYS WIN THIRD STRAIGHT
With less than a minute to play, Dayton High School boys basketball remained tied with Fallon at 47-47.
However, it was the Dust Devils that were able to avoid overtime with a late bucket to pull out a 49-47 win this past weekend.
The victory moves Dayton to 13-4 overall; the Dust Devils have a 3-2 record in the 3A East.

DUST DEVIL GIRLS DROP TWO
The Dayton High School girls basketball team couldn’t hang with Fallon over the weekend, falling to the Greenwave, 53-8.
The Dust Devils also lost to Lowry over the weekend, 58-14.
UP NEXT: Dayton (1-12, 0-5 in Class 3A league play) will be back at home Friday night against Fernley (14-4, 3-1).
DAYTON WRESTLING COMPETES AT SPRING CREEK INVITE
This past weekend, the Dayton High School wrestling team went to Spring Creek for the annual Kiwanis Invitational.
Isaac Ervin (190 pounds) and Kasen Barbee (175) were the two Dust Devil wrestlers to pick up a pair of wins at the tournament.
Grayden Shalvoy, Ajay Cunha, Christian Ito, Mason Burns, Alex Conseur and Gabriel Russell all earned a win apiece.
Dayton ended the tournament with 26.5 points, which put the Dust Devils in 26th out of 32 teams.
FALCON BOYS SILENCE SILVER STAGE
The Sierra Lutheran High School boys basketball team took care of business on its home floor Friday with a 40-28 win over Silver Stage.

UP NEXT: Sierra Lutheran (5-11, 4-8 in Class 2A league play) will travel to North Tahoe (10-6, 7-3) on Tuesday. Friday night, the Falcons will be on the road again at Coral Academy (2-12, 0-11).

The Falcons’ girls basketball team grabbed its second league win of the season this past weekend, downing Silver Stage, 36-26.
