On May 12, Lyle Mills appeared for sentencing on the charges of possession of forged bills, a category C felony, and revocation of his sentence in a separate case for the charge of possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, a category D felony. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months to 36 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections for the possession of forged bills to run consecutive to a (reimposed) sentence of 12 months to 36 months for the charge of possession with intent to sell.
On May 13, Ruben Angel appeared for sentencing on the charge of discharging a firearm into occupied structure, vehicle, or watercraft, a category B felony. The defendant was convicted for discharging a .22 caliber round into the door panel of another vehicle. No injuries were reported. The defendant was sentenced to 19 to 48 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $4,220.34.
On May 20, Timothy Bohannan appeared for sentencing on the charge of possession of a controlled substance 14 grams or more but less than 28 grams, a category C felony. The defendant, who has criminal history, possessed approximately 27 grams of methamphetamine in a small backpack in the trunk of his vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 16 months to 48 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections.
On May 27, Damien Michelli appeared for sentencing on the charge of commercial burglary, a category C felony. The defendant broke into a local storage unit and stole multiple items of personal property. The defendant was sentenced to 12 months to 36 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,509 to the victim.
On May 27, Kasey Harger appeared for sentencing on the charges of eluding while under the influence, a category D felony, battery by a prisoner, a category B felony, and attempted battery by prisoner, a category C felony. The defendant, while operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances, did refuse to stop for law enforcement officers resulting in a vehicle pursuit. Additionally, the defendant, upon being taken into custody, did kick and attempt to punch multiple law enforcement officers. While being taken into custody on a subsequent bail violation, the defendant did attempt to scratch and bite the arresting officer. For the eluding offense, the defendant was sentenced to 19 to 48 months with a concurrent 28 months to 72 months for the battery by a prisoner offense. Additionally, for the attempted battery by a prisoner offense, the defendant was sentenced to a consecutive 24 months to 60 months in the Nevada Department of Corrections. The defendant will be serving an aggregate prison sentence of 52 months to 132 months.
