Carson High School senior Anne Davis received one of the highest honors from the NIAA on Monday afternoon, being named to the 2025 NIAA Top 10 student-athlete of the year list.

Each year, the NIAA recognizes 10 student-athletes from Northern and Southern Nevada for the award.

In May, Davis won the 5A North regional title in the girls 100-meter hurdles, posting a blistering personal record of 15.78 seconds.

According to the NIAA, the award recognizes not only the most accomplished high school athletes in the Silver State but also those who demonstrate commitment to their schools and communities. The organization says that emphasis is placed on well-rounded students who have participated in multiple sports, served in student government or other activities, and engaged in meaningful community service.

“This is an outstanding program that honors student-athletes who represent the very best of what high school athletics are meant to be,” said Timothy Jackson, executive director of the NIAA. “Although the criteria are rigorous, each year we are inspired by the exceptional young people who meet and exceed these standards. Through the Top Ten program, our goal is to seek out and celebrate these remarkable individuals.”
