Kitty adoption days this weekend

Fallon Animal Welfare Group is sponsoring kitty adoption days Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.


Youth Dance Camp

Performing Arts of Churchill County will hold a three-week summer dance camp July 7 through 25 for youth 9 to 14 years old.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of musical theater auditions and basic techniques in ballet, jazz, tap, modern and ballroom dance styles. Classes are Monday-Friday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wolf Center, 457 Esmeralda St. The session will conclude July 25 at 6 p.m. with a showcase and family dance party on the Centennial Stage at Oats Park.

Registration must be submitted at paccnv.org by June 20. A $30 fee is due by June 30 and includes a camp T-shirt.

PACC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for community members of all ages to participate in the performing arts. For information visit the website or email paccnv22@gmail.com.


Churchill County Museum

“Restoring Rides: Motorcycles of the Corey Koura Collection,” is currently on display at the Churchill County Museum. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1050 S. Maine St.


Churchill County Library

Kick-off summer by signing up for the Summer Reading Program at bit.ly/CCLSummerReading.

Adults and youth are all invited to participate by reading books and logging your process online or in a paper logbook between June 7 and July 31. Stop by, pick up a registration bag and take a look at the amazing vehicles our community helpers use.

• A life skills financial presentation from Nevada Federal Credit Union takes place on June 14 at 2 p.m. for anyone wanting to brush up on their financial skills and knowledge.

• Join staff from the Nevada Department of Wildlife at the library on June 24 at 2 p.m. to find out more about our furry, feathery, furry and scaly neighbors with this wildlife presentation.

• Finally, plan to stop by the library on June 28 at 10 a.m. for a puzzle race.

• The library will be closed for Juneteenth on June 19.


Museum annual meeting

Join the Churchill County Museum for its annual meeting on June 28 from 1-3 p.m.

There will be free ice cream, a raffle, and more with remarks about the museum’s accomplishments within the last year and plans for the upcoming one.


Fallon Rotary golf tournament

Fallon Rotary Club is looking for volunteers for some upcoming events, namely the golf tournament and the centennial party.

Golf Tournament: June 21. We need a new chairperson. After years and years and years of dedication, Karla is relinquishing the reins on this event.

Demotion Dinner Party: an evening in June.


Greenwave QB Club

The Greenwave Quarterback Club is seeking volunteers to join the organization. Five members will be stepping down next season, and the club would like to transition to a new team.

The Greenwave Quarterback Club helps the Churchill County High school football team by overseeing multiple fundraising events including a golf tournament and catering. The funds raised help support the football program, varsity dinners and the snack bar and also provide meals for double days.

Pennington Life Center

Plenty of good eats at the Pennington Life Center: All are welcome to partake. Lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Cost is $6 for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and older.
