Carson City Health and Human Services plans to perform mosquito abatement treatments in the areas of Andersen/Buzzy Ranch, River View Park, Linear Ditch and ponds east of I-580 the morning of June 23, according to a news release.
“This will involve utilizing a helicopter for aerial treatments of standing water areas. These treatments are part of an ongoing effort to control the mosquito population and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases,” the city said.
In addition to the aerial treatments, CCHHS recommends that residents take preventive measures to protect themselves from mosquito bites. This includes “using a good quality insect repellent, eliminating standing water around your home, and ensuring that window and door screens are intact to keep mosquitoes out of homes,” the city said.
