Middle school volleyball in Carson City leapt to new heights this year and bumped, set and spiked its way to tournament victories and end-of-season celebrations.

The Carson Middle School seventh grade volleyball team aced the Tah-Neva end-of-season tournament with a first-place finish, after concluding the regular season with a 10-1 record. They won all six non-league scrimmages en route to the tournament championship. Sara Vaccaro, who had assistance from Carson High volleyball players Madison and Khloe Vaccaro, coached the seventh grade team.

The Carson Middle School eighth grade team also had a fantastic season, placing third at the Tah-Neva Tournament. They were coached by Kaitlyn Gentry with assistance from Carson High students and volleyball athletes Nickolas Cotsonis, Julie Salanoa and Geni Van Sickle.

Across town at Eagle Valley Middle School, employees faced off against their eighth-grade volleyball team during the annual “Staff vs. Student” volleyball game. This year marked the 19th year of the end-of-season celebration where all kinds of employees, including teachers, cooks, paraprofessionals, admin and even sheriff resource officers teamed up to challenge the eighth grade team.
