Wes Francis, as Alex Coryell, from the Virginia City Silent Riders will enhance Leisure Hour Club members’ appreciation for life during a dinner meeting Thursday, March 20.
Coryell was an officer who died in the line of duty in Virginia City in 1891.
The Silent Riders is a non-profit organization that keeps history alive in Virginia City, once the second largest city west of the Mississippi River, as living legends and historians.
The Silent Riders fulfill their mission of promoting the Comstock by attending community events, working with local businesses, and sharing history on the streets and boardwalks of historic Virginia City.
The Leisure Hour Club, established in September 1896, is Carson City’s oldest continuously meeting social organization.
The organization is focused on its goal of promoting knowledge on important issues, science, music and literature.
