Fans of Carl’s Jr. fast food restaurants don’t have long to wait in Carson City. A new location at 1250 S. Carson St., is expected to open Monday, May 12, according to Mike Fogal, managing partner of Apex Construction.
“Carl’s Jr. is currently training their employees,” Fogal said by email.
Apex was the contractor for an interior and exterior remodel. The building has sat empty since Arnulfo’s, a Mexican restaurant, closed in November 2023.
The opening will return the brand to the capital city after more than a decade. In 2014, a Carl’s Jr. by the Carson Mall was demolished to make room for parking.
A banner at the new location (visible May 5) instructed jobseekers to apply online at www.renostarus.com.
Carl’s Jr. started in Anaheim, California, and established the first out-of-state location in Las Vegas in 1979. In 1997, parent company Carl Karcher Enterprises (CKE) acquired Hardee’s restaurants, “expanding business by nearly 2,500 locations,” the site said.
