UNR to host plant sales to support horticulture programs

University of Nevada, Reno experts and volunteers have been growing plant starts and will be offering them for sale to support the university’s local education, research and outreach programs focused on gardening and agriculture.

Plant starts were cultivated by staff and volunteers of Extension’s Master Gardener Program and the Experiment Station’s Desert Farming Initiative at the University’s Valley Road Field Lab and Greenhouse Complex and other university and partner locations.

University plant sales:

• Master Gardener Native plant sale: Saturday, May 17 at the Nature Conservancy’s River Fork Ranch, 381 Genoa Lane, Minden, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• Master Gardener Pollinator-Friendly Landscape plant sale: Saturday, May 31 at the Carson City Community Garden, 1044 Beverly Drive, from 9 a.m. to noon.
