The Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will review an agreement for a feasibility study for the Dayton Valley/Chaves Road Bridge Project on Wednesday.

CAMPO meets 4:30 p.m. in the board room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

Specifically, CAMPO members will consider an interlocal agreement with Lyon County for CAMPO to manage $1.25 million in Surface Transportation Block Grant funding for the study. There would be a 5 percent local match of $66,000 paid by Lyon County, according to the agenda.

Overseeing the study, CAMPO would also be reimbursed for staff labor. The agreement would run through the end of 2028. Lyon County commissioners approved the agreement on April 17, according to a staff report.

A draft of the agreement says the study “will identify a future location for a new bridge across the Carson River and associated roadway network connections in the Dayton Valley area as described by CAMPO’s 2025 Regional Transportation Plan.”

A project scope document outlines management and outreach, data collection, environmental considerations and alternative analysis as elements of the study, including alternative roadway alignments, bridge type evaluation and cost analysis.

After CAMPO adjourns, the Carson City Regional Transportation Commission will convene for the following:

• Possible action on the District 1 Carmine Street Rehabilitation Project “including the evaluation of stormwater and roadway design alternatives and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramp and sidewalk improvements at selected locations along Carmine Street between North Lompa Lane and Airport Road,” according to the agenda.

• Possible action on the estimated $5 million Curry Street Complete Street Project, specifically on an agreement for the Nevada Department of Transportation to partially fund construction through $1.98 million in STBG funding, with a 5 percent local match totaling $104,139.

The project, focusing on the section of Curry between Rhodes Street and just south of Lake Glen Drive, received $2.6 million in congressional designated spending.

• Possible action on a $681,890 contract with Lumos & Associates Inc. to provide design and construction support services for the Curry Street project.

“The design is estimated to be completed by the fall of 2026, with construction anticipated to begin spring of 2027,” according to a staff report.

• Possible action on a similar NDOT agreement for $500,000 in STBG funds (plus 5 percent local match) for the estimated $1.58 million District 2 Little Lane Rehabilitation Project.

“The project includes the reconstruction and preservation of Little Lane between Roop Street and Saliman Road along with required American with Disabilities Act upgrades,” according to a staff report.
