Celebrate Fallon Rotary’s centennial

Come celebrate 100 years as the Fallon Rotary Club reaches its centennial.

The Fallon Rotary Club invites the community to its anniversary at the Fallon Convention Center on June 14. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The cost for the dinner is $50 and includes a first bar trip and door prize drawing. Proceeds benefit the Churchill County community.

Churchill County Library

Enjoy spring at the Churchill County Library with programming, books, online resources and more.

A reminder that all library programming is free and open to the public.

For children:

“1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read books before entering school. Recognition given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000! Sign-ups accepted at any time at bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.

STEAM sessions every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Choose from science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities that vary from week to week. Geared to kids ages 6 through 11, but all are welcome.

Come out for in-person children’s story time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and again on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. or try our new virtual story time on Saturdays at 11 a.m. Sign up for virtual story time at bit.ly/CCLVirtualStorytime.

Each week’s story time will feature the same children’s content with picture books and a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.

Elementary Book Club meets virtually on May 30 at 3 p.m. for those in grades 3 through 5. Reserve your spot at bit.ly/CCLElementaryBookClub.


Museum annual meeting

Join the Churchill County Museum for its annual meeting on June 28 from 1-3 p.m.

There will be free ice cream, a raffle, and more with remarks about the museum’s accomplishments within the last year and plans for the upcoming one.


Fallon Rotary

Fallon Rotary Club is looking for volunteers for some upcoming events, namely the golf tournament and the centennial party.

Rotary Club of Fallon's Centennial Party: June 14.

Golf Tournament: June 21. We need a new chairperson. After years and years and years of dedication, Karla is relinquishing the reins on this event.

Demotion Dinner Party: an evening in June.


Greenwave QB Club

The Greenwave Quarterback Club is seeking volunteers to join the organization. Five members will be stepping down next season, and the club would like to transition to a new team.

The Greenwave Quarterback Club helps the Churchill County High school football team by overseeing multiple fundraising events including a golf tournament and catering. The funds raised help support the football program, varsity dinners and the snack bar and also provide meals for double days.

Pennington Life Center

Stop by the Pennington Life Center in May for the many activities planned.

Plenty of good eats at the Pennington Life Center: All are welcome to partake. Lunch served 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays. Cost is $6 for those under age 60 and a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 and older.
