A man wanted for attempted murder in Stanislaus County, Calif., was arrested on Friday evening in Carson City.

Troy Wayne McComak, 40, was reported to have been involved in a domestic incident involving a firearm in Hughson, Calif., on May 28.

McComak fled from the scene of that crime and was reported to be armed and wearing body armor. McComak’s vehicle was identified as a 2009 Saturn sedan with California license plates. Investigators believed McComak may have fled to Carson City. McComak stated he would fight and kill law enforcement officers, according to a press release from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday morning, a license plate reader alerted the Real Time Information Center that McComak’s vehicle was in Carson City. The RTIC worked with Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada Department of Investigation: Tri-County Narcotics Task Force to locate McComak in the 100 block of Conestoga Drive in North Carson City. Investigators established surveillance in the area and utilized a law enforcement drone to assist in the investigation.

Detectives observed McComak exit the residence via the drone and quickly moved in to apprehend McComak without incident.
