The estate of the respected Silver Springs watercolorist Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke (1931-2011) has authorized the sale of 50 paintings which will be exhibited in a show and sale at Maynard Station in Gold Hill.

The show opens Friday, Oct. 7 and runs from 4 to 8 p.m. with refreshments and a no host bar. The sale continues from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8 through Sunday, Oct. 9, when the event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. The paintings are mostly landscapes with a few floral subjects and abstracts. A second sale may be held later in the fall.

Darlene Grace Novy-Zuelke spent a lifetime as a working artist after completing the Gifted Artist program at the University of Illinois. For many years she worked around the USA, Canada and Mexico and her paintings are in galleries and private collections as far as away as Germany, Japan, Australia and South America.

Robin Cobbey of Gold Hill is managing the event with the Charlie B Gallery of Carson City.

“Most of Darlene’s work is watercolor. This collection ranges from exquisite miniatures of florals and landscapes, to larger landscapes and a few abstracts. You get a feel for the many changing landscapes in Nevada through her paintings. The work is priced affordably, allowing you to add to your collection or simply to add to the beauty of your home”, she says.

Maynard Station is a comfortable place with lots of wall space for the art and off-street parking for the visitors. And holding an art sale in a saloon seems to add to the enjoyment. There will be a few antique and vintage items for sale as well.

Maynard Station is located on Route 342 a mile south of Virginia City.
