Is the Northern Nevada area ready to become the most vibrant high-tech enterprise epicenter in the USA?

Join guest speaker Dr. Ed Zschau at the Minden C.V.I.C. Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m., as he explains how education, entrepreneurship, and economic development initiatives can make that vision real.

Zschau started and headed several high tech companies in the Silicon Valley, from startups to a large division of IBM, over a period of 45 years. He also represented the Silicon Valley as a Republican Congressman for two terms. More recently, he served as a professor at Stanford and Harvard Business Schools; the Engineering Schools at Princeton and Caltech, as well as UNR. He now resides in Genoa.

The event is sponsored by Sara Lafrance, candidate for the Nevada Board of Regents, District 9, which includes Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Mineral, Esmeralda, Churchill, Storey, and Lander counties, as well the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe south of the Mt. Rose Highway.

“With the Northern Nevada area in a state of economic transformation,” states Sara, “it is important that we look at the effects of this growth and what it will mean to its residents in terms of opportunity and impact. Ed’s presentation will provide an in-depth look and also serve as a “Open Town Hall,” enabling those in attendance to share their thoughts, ask questions, and talk about the future of their community.”

There is no cost to attend, although registration is required.
