Carson City’s Shannon Archer named to dean’s list

Shannon Archer of Carson City earned a spot on the spring 2015 Dean’s List at William Woods University in Fulton, Mo.

A total of 205 students were honored for academic accomplishments during the 2015 spring term. To make the list, full-time students must achieve at least a 3.6 semester and cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Torvinen achieves at Hillsdale College

Kristen Torvinen, a junior majoring in biology at Hillsdale College in Michigan, was named to the dean’s list for the 2015 spring semester.

Torvinen, a 2012 graduate of Bishop Manogue High School, is the daughter of Mike and Pat Torvinen of Carson City.

Carson graduate earns spot on UNR dean’s list

Nicholas Lani, a 2014 graduate of Carson High School, is one of 185 students at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources named to the dean’s list for the 2015 spring semester.

To be considered, students must declare a major in the college, complete a dozen course credits and earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher for the semester.

Lani, a pre-vet major, is the son of Stephen and Susan Lani of Carson City.

Dayton native honored at Clemson University

Dani-Irene Chaney, a Dayton native majoring in animal and veterinary science, made the dean’s list at Clemson University for the spring 2015 semester.

Students on the list must achieve a grade-point average between 3.5 and 3.99 on a 4.0 scale.

Carson High School graduate earns doctorate degree

Kerry Csiga, a 2007 graduate of Carson High School and a 2011 graduate of University of Nevada, Reno, recently received her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Ore. Dr. Csiga graduated top five in her class and was awarded membership in the National Dental Honor Society. Dr. Csiga has secured an associate dental position in the

Portland area where she intends to reside.
