CARSON CITY – Assemblyman Kelly Thomas, D-Las Vegas, says he won’t seek re-election to his District 16 seat in 2000.

Thomas said he needs to spend more time on his new consulting business and more time with his family.

The lawmaker added he has offered to work with the state Democratic Party and the Assembly Democratic Caucus on reapportionment issues that will face the Legislature during the 2001 session.

Thomas was elected in 1998, and served on Government Affairs, Health and Human Services and Transportation committees.
