Barbara Anne Campbell

Barbara Anne Campbell, 68, a Dayton resident, passed away at her home on June 11, 2008. She was born February 6, 1940 to Cecil and Gertrude (Carte) Schuck, in Charleston, W.Va.

Barbara was the last girl born with seven brothers and three sisters. She graduated from Charleston High School, and went to college where she studied bookkeeping. She married James Campbell March 23, 1957, and they moved to Hayward, Calif. Dec. 26, 1957. Barbara’s husband started an auto repair business in 1961, where she worked with and beside him for 47 years with total commitment and support. They moved to Nevada in July 1994 and opened Presto Auto Electric in Carson City.

In June 2004, Barbara decided to become a real estate agent and became an agent for Realty Executives in Carson City. She worked until she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in Nov. 6, 2006, where she had complained to local doctors for six months before her diagnosis. She was receiving treatment locally, and the cancer was almost gone, when she developed pneumonia in May 2007. She was treated with radiation at the Mayo Clinic and the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and was doing okay until she fell and broke her arm. She returned home May 28.

Barbara is survived by husband of 51 years James Campbell; son and daughter-in-law James and Debbie Campbell of Dayton; grandchildren Jimmy, Daniel and Brittany and great-granddaughter Mikalah.
