The owners of the Blue Bull, 107 E. Telegraph St., say the sports-oriented cocktail bar should be opened by Thanksgiving.

Terry and Lara Poor, the owners, received about $26,000 in redevelopment funds from the Board of Supervisors in October to help update the building, which Lara Poor said was built in the late 1800s.

A French pastry and coffee shop is set to open in the Carson Nugget on Nov. 23, said Catherine Oaks, the marketing director for the Carson City casino.

The pastry shop, Le Nougat, will open shop where the Nugget’s former oyster bar used to be.

Oaks said the pastry shop will serve high-end pastries and feature a Parisian-themed eatery.
