Carson City’s Office Depot celebrates remodel
Office Depot threw a party Tuesday to celebrate its newly remodeled store.
Mayor Bob Crowell and state Assemblyman P.K. O’Neill, along with Office Depot employees, cut the ribbon on the Fairview Drive store.
The Carson City location is one of five concept stores the company is trying out to provide both products and services geared to small to medium-sized business customers, said Brad Nichols, business pro.
“We call it the store of the future, providing exceptional levels of service,” said Nichols.
The store went through a three-month remodel and is now half the size, but still sells all the same inventory and has added services such as hiring and payroll consulting.
The store also employs more people now, about 25 on staff, than it did before the changes, said Rogelio Garcia, office manager.
The store remained open during the renovations and was busy during the ribbon cutting with dozens of customers shopping.
Office Depot is located at 222 Fairview Dr. and is open seven days a week, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., except Sunday when it’s open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
