Carson Tahoe Health claimed second place in the extra-large employer category at the 12th annual Greater Reno-Tahoe Best Places to Work celebration presented by Northern Nevada Human Resources Association on April 25.

“At Carson Tahoe Health, a key aspect of our mission is to treat people professionally and compassionately, with dignity and respect,” said Larry Fagerhaug, vice president and chief human resource officer at Carson Tahoe Health. “While our goal is to always provide top-quality care, we also strive for our employees to find balance and quality of life while making a difference.”

Carson Tahoe Health was a finalist among three other organizations including Tahoe Forest System, Patagonia and Charles River Laboratories. The winners were determined through an employee survey composite score. Based on the survey, Carson Tahoe nearly has 90 percent of its workforce either highly engaged or moderately engaged.

In addition to high employee engagement, Carson Tahoe boasts exceptional benefit plans, a reinvestment in staff members and continuing education, as well as a positive, enriching culture — not to mention the views of Sierra Nevada.

“We are honored to have received this award for being one of the best places to work in Northern Nevada,” Fagerhaug said. “Our employees work tirelessly to ensure our patients get the best care our region has to offer, and we thank them for their dedication every day, every step of the way.”
