Lake Tahoe Brewery hopping with activity, nears opening in Carson City
The new Lake Tahoe Brewing Co. in downtown Carson City held a pre-opening event for friends and family Wednesday evening, with another set for Friday.
Michael Candelario of the new brewery and restaurant said he plans a “soft” opening soon, perhaps as early as the following weekend, with an official grand opening likely near the end of this month. He said preparation matters are still under way and a firm date hasn’t yet been set for either opening,
The Carson City brewing facility at 302 N. Carson St. has undergone extensive renovations inside and out. Lake Tahoe Brewing has another outlet in Truckee, Calif. The Carson City location formerly housed High Sierra Brewing Co., which now operates out of Sparks.
Candalerio said preparations for the upcoming official opening have kept things hopping at the brewery here for Morgan Davis, the liquor manager for the new downtown luncheon and night spot. When Davis earlier got her liquor license from city government, Candalerio and Davis said they hoped to open around Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, but that renovations still were under way and that wasn’t a fixed date.
