Carson City 2019 high school students post grad rate of 86.79 percent
Carson City School District’s class of 2019 high school students had a graduation rate of 86.79 percent, according to a school district news release.
It was the fourth consecutive annual increase in the rate, up 6.48 percentage points since 2016.
Carson High School had a graduation rate of 95.9 percent, up 7.8 percentage points since 2016.
Pioneer High School, the alternative high school in Carson City, had a rate of 82.35 percent, up 10.35 percentage points since 2016.
“These are very impressive numbers to look at when you consider all the effort that already goes into ensuring our students succeed academically,” said Carson School Superintendent Richard Stokes in the release. “It is extremely difficult to gain even a half of a graduation rate percentage point from year to year. The continued uptick in the numbers speaks to the ongoing effort and success of students, families, community partners and every employee within the district. This is a combined effort that should be celebrated among all of our partners and staff.”
