Cinema Club holding fundraiser
The Carson City Classic Cinema Club is holding its annual fundraiser.
The 5th Annual Hollywood Gala – A Star is Born will raise money for the cinema club showings and local youth arts program.
This year the club has partnered with Mark Twain Elementary School, taking additional art projects to the students and helping their GATE students produce a campus talk show, “It’s Your School,” with the help of Wired Wednesday Digital Artists Association.
The gala is May 18 at the Gold Dust West and features cocktails, buffet dinner, music by Me & Bobby McGee, a red carpet photo-op, raffles, auctions, prizes and awards.
Tickets are $40 per person or $375 for a table of eight, including a bottle of wine and some surprises.
Purchase your tickets before May 1, when prices will go up, at the club website, ccclassiccinema.org/shop/.
A screening of the classic film starring Judy Garland and James Mason is tonight at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall, 511 W. King St. Doors open at 6 p.m. with an introduction and trivia at 6:30 and the movie at 7. General admission is $4.
