Charles Jay Anderson Jr., 77, a native Nevadan and 42-year resident of Carson City, died Sept. 25, 2007.
Mr. Anderson was born on Sept. 7, 1930, to Charles J. Anderson Sr. and Lucy Anderson in Las Vegas. He attended schools in Las Vegas, graduating from Las Vegas High School in 1948.
He joined the U.S. Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. He married Patricia, June 10, 1951, in Hawthorne.
He was honorably discharged from the military in 1954 and went to work at the Las Vegas Sun newspaper. In 1965 he moved to Carson City.
He worked for the State of Nevada as a Gaming Agent for 35 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; son, Charles Jay Anderson III of McGill and Richard Farrell Anderson of Burbank, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Ray and Lynda Anderson of Carson City; daughters, Coleen Elizabeth Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Rebecca Kathleen Anderson of Carson City; brother, Alden Anderson of Las Vegas; sister, Norma Westlund of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Trisha, Scott, Chuck IV, Kelsey, Chris and his wife Sarah; great-grandchildren, Emma and Chelsea, and numerous nieces and nephews.
