Community businesses given thanks for support through donations

The Carson Middle School PTA wishes to thank the following community businesses for their support in donations and services to our Bingo/Chili fund-raising event:

Bella Salon, Carson City Car Wash, Carson Lanes, Costco, Eagle Valley Golf Course, Empire Ranch Golf Course, Galaxy Theaters, Gold Dust Bowling Center, Nationals Cafe, Starbucks, UNR Wolfpack and a special thank you to Longs Drugs Stores for their gracious grant.

The event was a success due to the fantastic prizes donated, diligent work of the volunteers, the leadership club students, band students, and the staff. Proceeds from the event benefit the students and school throughout the year. Thank you.

Sold-out shows appreciated by Carson Valley Community Theatre

We would like to “give our regards” and many thanks to everyone who helped make our latest production a huge success.

The Carson Valley Inn especially Bill Henderson, Veronica Roberts, Carrie Nicolaisen and Gary Nix; The Record Courier especially Sharlene Irete; A Gourmet Sewing Company for the use of tuxedos, Rent a Center, Teri Levy and Dave Anderson from The Dakota Organization, Carolyn Lancaster, Linda Diego, Sue Smith, and Ted Nagel.

We would also like to thank the community for their continued support and overwhelming response; thanks to them we had four sold-out performances.

Countless hours go into making a successful production and many of our volunteers work full-time jobs, but there’s one thing we are all certain of, “there’s no business like show business.”

Sincerely,

Lucille Rao

Carson High School senior thanks local businessmen for help with project

I would like to thank several businessmen in our community who helped me complete my high school senior project.

These men donated both time and money to insure my senior project was a learning experience as well as being a successful project.

Upon graduation I have chosen to attend Universal Technical Institute because I want to go into the automotive repair and maintenance industry. My senior project was to repaint a 1986 Suburban to help me in my future career choice. Joe Magedaleno, a claims adjuster for All State Insurance and an experienced auto body technician, spent many hours as my mentor helping me disassemble, strip, repair, prime and paint the Suburban.

Robert Fulghum, owner of All American Auto Body, donated his time, expertise, use of his shop, paint booth and supplies that enabled me to spray the base coat and clear coat on the Suburban in a controlled environment. Don Ellis and Greg Pratt of RE-NEVA Automotive Paints and Supplies donated top of the line base coat paint and clear coat by Sikkens Paint for a superior paint job.

These businessmen willingly helped me with my project with no strings attached, but simply wanted me to have a successful learning experience. I now have a project I can proudly drive around town because we still have unsung heroes in Nevada who are willing to help the youth of our community be successful.

Thanks again for all you have done for me.
