Senior gives back to group he has benefitted from

As a senior at Carson High School, I am obligated to perform a senior project as a prerequisite to graduation.

I chose, as my project, to organize a fundraising golf tournament that would benefit the Carson High School golf team, since I have benefited in so many ways from my membership on this team.

The fundraiser was held March 24 at Thunder Canyon Country Club and was a huge success, raising more than $2,000.

This could not have been possible without the help an many kindness’ of the following businesses and people:

Gayle and Roger Block; Ryan Zaccaro; Bianca Daykin; Golf Headquarters; Hidden Valley Country Club; Eagle Valley Golf Course; Sommersett Country Club; D’Andrea Country Club; Tyler Daykin; Dave Lafata; Sue List; my parents; Coach Rod Butler of Carson High School and all of the great people who showed up for an awesome day of golf.

Thank you all,

Isaac Holt,

CHS senior

Eagle Valley Children’s Home delighted with visits, support

I would like to thank several members of the community for continuing their support of our clients at Eagle Valley Children’s Home throughout the year.

This Easter we were grateful for many Easter baskets filled with goodies. On Easter Sunday we were visited by many of our motorcycle club friends headed up by the Carson City Vagos who were joined by the Iron Workers, Booze Fighters, Pobob’s and independent riders. These clubs were supported by local businesses, Toad’s Bar being a great sponsor.

What a sight when 50 bikes drove up to our facility. The clients really enjoy the visits. They enjoy the roar and vibrations of the bikes. (Many bikers came during Christmas bearing gifts.)

We also were fortunate to receive baskets from the Kiwanis Club and the Knights of Columbus. These groups are so kind in finding out exactly what our needs are and successfully fulfill them. Many clients and staff alike enjoyed the Easter Bunny and walking carrot visit.

Thank you too to the CCD class from St. Teresa’s – they helped our clients color Easter eggs.

There are many generous people who selflessly share their good fortune with us and I would like them to know how appreciated they are.
