There’s a Mr. Talent out there. Futhermore, a Mr. Personality.

But let’s not forget there’s a Mr. Carson High, too.

But which one is he?

As an annual tradition, 18 Carson High School seniors are competing for the title. On March 10, at the Carson City Community Center, each candidate will be critiqued for not only their poise, but for their self introductions, answers to trivia, duo dances, and costumes. This year’s theme is Las Vegas lifestyle.

Among the judges are Mayor Bob Crowell, Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong and Campagni Auto Group General Manager Tim Milligan.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the CHS cheerleading camp. In its honor, CHS cheerleaders picked seniors involved in sports, band, student body, and ROTC.

“We wanted variety,” said Shelia Story, CHS chief nurse. “We have a whole mix of the senior class.”

The newest competition this year is the swimsuit runway, said senior cheer captain Cailyn Campos.

“This is my fourth year being involved and I’m excited,” she said. “I think it will be more exciting this year because now my class is a part of it.”

First, second and third place winners will receive a variety of prom packages, made possible by donations from the community. Other candidates will receive recognition for their participation.

CHS junior cheer camp also will perform at the event during intermission.

The event begins March 10 at 7 p.m. and tickets are sold at the high school, as a family-friendly event.
