Claude "Blackie" Evans

A prominent Labor Leader and political activist, he began his career as a

steelworker at the Titanium plants in Henderson and went on to lead the

State’s largest labor organization for 21 years as chief of the AFL-CIO and

of working men and women, he was an iconic presence lobbying on their

behalf.
