4 arrests at motel drug call, Carson City Sheriff’s Office says

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

FRIDAY

At 10:40 a.m., Ann Marine Southern, 36, was arrested after managers at Smith’s reported some one doing drugs in a car in the parking lot. She was charged with possession of meth and heroin and paraphernalia as well as possession of prescription drugs without a prescription and burglary for taking more than $300 worth of items including groceries from the store. Bail was set at $28,500.

At 4:52 p.m., Lee VaiVai, 26, was arrested on outstanding warrants charging burglary and child abuse at an apartment on Silver Oak Drive. Bail was set at $25,000.

At 5:40 p.m., a 29-year-old Mound House man was arrested after a traffic stop on College Parkway for a revoked license. He was also charged with violating probation conditions. Bail was set at $3,500.

At 7:03 p.m., a 35-year-old man was arrested on a petit larceny charge after video at Grocery Outlet saw him take the purse accidentally left by a woman customer from a shopping cart. Bail was set at $250.

At 8:05 p.m., a 43-year-old cook was charged with DUI 1st alcohol after a traffic stop at Musser and Roop for running a stop sign. Bail was set at $1,100.

At 8:11 p.m., Jermaine Jordan, 34, was arrested after a traffic stop for an improper lane change in a turn. He was ordered held without bail for a P&P violation and also charged with driving without a valid license.

At 10:45 p.m., a 46-year-old tradesman was arrested after deputies went to his residence on Hancock Road to serve a warrant charging indecent conduct. Bail was set at $2,500.

SATURDAY

At 12:07 a.m., a 41-year-old woman was arrested on drug charges after deputies spotted her and two other people sitting at tables outside the Laxalt Building. A drug dog alerted on her backpack and deputies found two syringes inside. She was charged with possession of paraphernalia. Bail was set at $600.

At 12:15 a.m., a 30-year-old teacher was charged with domestic battery after deputies responded to an address on Emerson Drive. Bail was set at $3,000.

At 12:15 a.m., four people were arrested on drug charges at the Silver Queen Inn on Caroline after deputies responded to a drug complaint. Sarina Welch, 20, answered the door and deputies searched the premises because she is on alternative sentencing supervision with no drug clause. Deputies were able to see drug paraphernalia and meth on the couch inside. In addition, Graften Dodge, 33, was in the shower. A search of his cell phone revealed text messages with Ronald Nigra, 33, who resides in another room in the Inn offering to sell Dodge meth. Nigra also had a warrant out of Douglas County charging burglary and was arrested in his room. Also found in the first room was a heroin kit and paraphernalia that Dodge said belonged to Trevor Hammond, 27, who was also arrested in the motel parking lot.

Nigra was charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia, conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act and held on two outstanding Douglas County warrants. His bail was set at $49,100. Hammond was charged with possession of heroin and paraphernalia. His bail was set at $3,500. Dodge was charged with possession of meth, conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act and violating deferred sentencing conditions. His bail was set at $23,500. Welch was charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia and violating deferred sentencing conditions. Her bail was set at $3,500.

SUNDAY

At 4:21 a.m., Brian Niell, 31, of Reno, Mariah Minor, 27, and Nicholas Norris, 29 of Sun Valley were arrested after a traffic stop on Carson Street at Fleischmann for speeding. After a records check, Norris was charged with violating P&P conditions and ordered held without bail. Niell was found to be in possession of a collapsible metal baton and was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon. He was also unable to provide proof of insurance or a registration for the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and occupants turned up a hypodermic needle containing a brown liquid in a purse where Minor was sitting. She was charged with possession and possession of paraphernalia. A further search of the vehicle found meth and more paraphernalia in Niell’s backpack in the trunk of the vehicle. Niell was further charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia as well as speeding. Niell’s bail was set at $6,670. Minor’s bail was set at $3,500. Norris was held without bail on the P&P violation.

MONDAY

At 12:24 a.m., a 41-year-old was arrested on two outstanding traffic warrants issues in Storey County after a traffic stop on William Street for speeding. Bail was set at $1,345.

At 10:25 a.m., a 27-year-old was arrested on multiple traffic related charges after several reports of a reckless driver. Callers including a sheriff’s volunteer unit reported the vehicle failing to maintain a travel lane, driving at high speed, nearly crashing into other vehicles and finally crashing into a fence and metal pole in the parking lot of O’Reilly Auto Parts on Carson Street. The arrest report saysthe driver’s breath test indicated 0.36 percent, more than four times the legal limit. He was charged with DUI 2nd alcohol, hit and run, parking in a prohibited place and failure to maintain a lane. He was also charged with an unregistered vehicle and no valid license. Total bail was set at $3,625.
