Amber Alert issued for car with Nevada license plate ‘MARIMAR’
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning for a 15-year-old who may be traveling in a car with Nevada license plates.
According to a post on Facebook, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Alora Benitez, a 15-year-old female Hispanic. The post said Benitez was last seen at 9 a.m., Thursday, in Torrance, California. The juvenile was last seen leaving with her mother and an adult male in a white, 2013 BMW, four-door sedan with the Nevada license plate, “MARIMAR.” Their direction of travel is unknown.
Benitez is described as 5-foot-2, 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. No clothing description was available.
Benitez’ mother and the adult male are murder suspects in an investigation of a male who was found dead in the front seat of a white Audi in Carson, California on Tuesday.
A national Amber Alert identified suspect 1 as Roman Cerratos, 39. He is described as an Hispanic male weighing 210 pounds, 6-foot-1, bald with brown eyes. Suspect 2 is Maricela Mercado, 40, an Hispanic female weighing 130 pounds, 5-foot-3, with brown hair and brown eyes.
They are considered armed and dangerous. The post said to call 9-1-1 if you see Benitez, the suspects or the vehicle.
