Carson City Sheriff’s log: Man arrested after disturbance at Smith’s
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
• At 12:08 p.m., a 45-year-old Carson woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense after deputies responded to a report of a pickup with an Arizona plate driving at high speed on College Parkway. She was arrested at a residence on Debbie Way and held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
• At 9:12 p.m., a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a series of eight misdemeanor counts following a traffic stop by the Special Enforcement Team at Highway 50 and Nicholos Drive. The arrest report says the officer had to chase the vehicle in traffic before he could stop the driver. He was charged with failure to yield, improper display of a license plate, no proof of insurance, possession of marijuana and four counts of paraphernalia possession. Total bail was set at $5,425.
• At 9:22 p.m., a 37-year-old man was arrested on battery charges after deputies were called to Smith’s on a report of a man with a gun. The store’s employees and customers were evacuated when deputies got there. The man also was charged with destruction of store property and held in lieu of a total of $1,500 bail.
• At 3:47 a.m., a 43-year-old was arrested on suspicion of DUI-second offense after a traffic stop on Highway 50 East for failure to maintain a traffic lane. He was also charged with the traffic violation and held in lieu of $2,540 bail.
