Electrician asked to help, ends up in jail, Carson City Sheriff’s Office says
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
At 4:24 p.m., a 27-year-old Sparks electrician was arrested on multiple misdemeanor violations after a P&P officer asked for assistance with a traffic stop on Linda Kay Court. He was charged with driving a vehicle without a DUI interlock device, driving without a valid license, violating probation and contempt of court. Total bail was set at $8,500
At 4:26 p.m., a 48-year-old man was arrested after deputies responded to a disturbance on Caboose Drive. A check of those involved revealed a contempt of court warrant. Bail was set at $500.
At 11:50 p.m., Thomas Lovelace, 35, was arrested on a warrant charging possession of a controlled substance after a deputy recognized him in the Nugget casino. He was ordered held without bail.
At 9:07 a.m., James Dutton, 36, and Cynthia Brown, 23, were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop at Carson and Nye for an obstructed license plate and failure to maintain a lane. A search of the vehicle revealed meth and paraphernalia. Both were charged with those violations. Dutton was additionally charged with a fictitious registration, the obstructed license plate, no proof of insurance and failure to maintain a lane. His bail was $4,215. Her bail was set at $3,500.
At 2:53 p.m., a 69-year-old man was charged with domestic battery 1st offense after deputies were called to an address on Imperial. He allegedly punched his son in the face in a dispute over rent. Bail was set at $3,000.
At 8:14 a.m., a 57-year-old man was charged with trespassing after deputies were called to an address on South Carson for a report of a man breaking into a storage unit he had been evicted from. He was also charged with destruction of property. Bail was set at $650.
At 2:13 p.m., April James, 52, was charged with possession of stolen property after a woman car owner reported her vehicle missing after she returned from a vacation. The vehicle was spotted parked along Highway 50. She was also charged with possession of meth and paraphernalia, a pipe. Bail was set at $28,500.
At 5:54 p.m., a 57-year-old Reno man was charged with DUI 1st alcohol after a car crash at College Parkway and Carson Street. He was also charged with a traffic violation for running a red light. Bail was set at $1,050.
At 6:27 p.m., James Bricky, 41, was charged with attempted murder after deputies were called to an apartment on South Carson Street by the landlord who saw her running from the residence, bleeding from a wound in the neck. She told deputies her boyfriend stabbed her and hit her with a hammer. She was taken to a hospital in Reno for treatment. When deputies arrested Bricky at the scene, he too was covered with blood and said he tried to kill himself but the gun didn’t go off. The steak knife and hammer were found inside along with two pistols. He was also charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon, battery causing substantial bodily harm and as an ex-felon in possession of a firearm. Total bail was set at $140,000.
