Three deaths resulted in an incident that ended with the suspect being killed after a chase and a shootout, authorities said.

Reports stated officers began looking for a missing white Jeep.

The Carson City Sheriff’s officers spotted it and a chase began on U.S. 50 at high speed, with the suspect driving to Sand Mountain Recreation Area.

The Nevada Highway Patrol reported the suspect died after exchanging gunfire with officers. No officers were hurt.

No other details were immediately available, including names of those involved and the condition of the injured victim.
