Dayton-area senior menus

The following menus are for the week of Dec. 18-22 and subject to change without notice. Choice of beverages is included with meals:

Dayton

The lunch menu for the Dayton Senior Center, 320 Old Dayton Valley Road:

Monday: Spud stuffer, ground beef, cheese, sour cream and butter, carrots, peaches, fruit juice, fruit crisp.

Tuesday: Pork chops, applesauce, broccoli and cauliflower, stuffing and gravy, roll, sherbet.

Wednesday: Pepper steak, rice pilaf, squash, bananas and strawberries, bread, pudding.

Thursday: Breaded fish squares, coleslaw, french fries, pears, tartar sauce, cookies.

Friday: Breakfast from 9-10 a.m. – corned beef hash, scrambled eggs, biscuit, melon, V8 and orange juice.

Silver Springs

The menu for the Silver Springs Senior Center, 1050 Pyramid Way:

Monday: Burger, fries and shake, baked beans, fruit, carrot salad.

Tuesday: Pasta bake, spinach salad, garlic bread, Jell-O, mandarin oranges.

Wednesday: Chicken stroganoff, egg noodles, green salad, fresh fruit, garlic bread.

Thursday: Country-fried steak, mashed potatoes with gravy, biscuit, glazed carrots, cake with fruit topping.

Friday: Christmas buffet at 11:30 a.m.

Fernley

The menu for the Fernley Senior Center 1170 W. Newlands Dr.:

Monday: Chili beans, onion, cheese, cornbread, Waldorf salad, green beans, grape juice.

Tuesday: Hot roast beef sandwich, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, pineapple.

Wednesday: Turkey pot pie, peas and carrots, mixed fruit, cookie.

Thursday: Reuben sandwich, sauerkraut, macaroni salad, pears, orange juice.

Friday: Glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, California-blend veggies, whole- wheat roll with butter, gingerbread cake.

Storey County

The Storey County Senior Citizens Center is on the corner of E and Mill streets in Virginia City:

Monday: Chili-cheese baked potato, steamed carrots, muffin, fruit yogurt, orange juice.

Tuesday: Ground beef stroganoff over noodles, broccoli and cauliflower, tossed salad, cookie.

Wednesday: Barbecued chicken, macaroni salad, spinach, cake.

Thursday: Cod in cilantro sauce, rice, refried beans, mixed salad, orange.

Friday: Ham, scalloped potatoes, layered salad, whole-wheat roll, ambrosia.
