Earl McNay Rowan
A funeral for Carson City resident Earl McNay Rowan, 69, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Walton’s Chapel of the Valley with the Rev. Bruce Kochsmeier officiating.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at Walton’s. Inurnment will be 3 p.m. Nov. 4 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif.
Mr. Rowan died Oct. 21, 2004, at Evergreen Carson City Care Center. A lifelong resident of Nevada, he was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Ruth to Harlan Rowan and Mildred McNay.
He married Judy on March 31, 2001, in Carson City.
Mr. Rowan graduated from White Pine High School in Ely and the University of Southern California with a degree in business administration. He worked for the state of Nevada Gaming Control Board for 19 years.
He enjoyed reading and golf. He loved to travel and was a fan of USC football.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Dorothy Cobb Rowan.
He is survived by his wife, Judy of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Ron and Stacy Rowan of Las Vegas; son Scott Rowan of Carson City; daughter, Julie Rowan of Reno; step-daughter, Penny Hughes of Washington state; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
