Carson City’s Capital City Arts Initiative Awarded National Endowment for the Arts Grant
December 9, 2014
Capital City Arts Initiative is one of 919 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an National Endowment for the Arts grant.
The announcement was made Tuesday by NEA Chairperson Jane Chu.
CCAI is recommended for a $10,000 grant to support an exhibition by Katie Lewis in the CCAI Courthouse Gallery. Lewis' show opens in Sept., 2015.
Lewis, a Reno native, will create an installation in the gallery using common materials pins, paper, and threads. Her art appeals to a wide audience but has an edge brought by the meticulous and intricate structures made directly on the gallery walls.
