‘My Fair Lady’ to open Saturday Night
November 7, 2014
Since the mid-1950s, theatre goers have been entranced by the Broadway hit musical "May Fair Lady." Often referred to as "the perfect musical," the Western Nevada Musical Theatre Company revives the George Bernard Shaw play the next three weekends at the Carson City Community Center.
"It is a beautifully written show, with a mix of comedy, depth, and unforgettable music," said Stephanie Arrigotti, the show's producer and director. "If you've never seen it, you are missing a treasure. If you have seen it, you won't want to miss how this production brings it to life."
Opening night is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, with a 2 p.m. matinee to follow on Sunday.
Through Nov. 23, performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights and 2 p.m. Sundays.
Purchase tickets online at wnmtc.com or by calling 866-977-6849. Tickets cost $25 and $28 — according to location in the theatre — and all seating is reserved.
Based on Shaw's play "Pygmalion," the production spotlights how a phonetics professor transforms a struggling flower girl into an elegant woman.
