Nevada Appeal staff report

The Board of Supervisors held a special meeting on Monday to approve Carson City’s fiscal year 2020 budget.

The supervisors voted to approve the city’s $176 million final budget, which consists of a projected $92.7 million in revenue for the general fund, $172.4 million in revenue from other funds, and roughly $4 million rolled over from 2019.

The supervisors also set the ad valorem tax rate for Cooperative Extension at 1.28 cents per $100 of assessed valuation, its current rate. The money is used for cooperative agricultural extension work.

Convening as the Redevelopment Authority, the supervisors also approved the Redevelopment Authority’s $1.4 million 2020 budget, which includes $200,000 for downtown street improvements, $137,794 for Bob Boldrick Theater upgrades, and $190,000 for 3rd Street parking lot rehabilitation.

Supervisor Brad Bonkowski was absent from the meeting.
