Stacey Crowley resigns as Nev. energy director

Nevada Appeal Capitol Bureau

Stacey Crowley has resigned as the director of the Nevada Office of Energy to take a post with the California Independent Systems Operator.

That is the quasi-public organization that manages utility power-transmission systems.

“I’ll be director of regional affairs with them,” she said.

“Working with Nevada and other western states to improve our western (power) grid.”

She said the job is to develop a more regional energy market.

That means she will remain in contact with Nevada officials, including her successor.

In fact, Crowley said she plans to remain a Nevada resident and commute to work in Folsom, Calif.

Gov. Brian Sandoval praised Crowley’s work “pursuing clean and efficient energy resources for Nevada.”

Sandoval has not named an interim director. Crowley’s resignation takes effect July 26.
