Stewart School bill heading to governor
The Senate on Saturday gave final passage to the bill creating a special account for the protection of Stewart Indian School at the southern border of Carson City.
Sen. Pete Goicoechea said the account would collect cash for the rehabilitation and maintenance of historic buildings at the school. That account would be administered by the Director of the Department of conservation and Natural Resources.
Funding for the account would be provided by the sale of two unneeded parcels of state land in that area.
AB15 passed the Senate by a vote of 19-0 with two members absent. It goes to the governor for his signature.
