Greater Nevada awards $15,000 in scholarships

Fifteen Northern Nevada students have been awarded $1,000 each in scholarships through Greater Nevada Credit Union’s Annual Academic Scholarship Program.

The scholarships are based on the student’s financial needs, academic performance, community involvement, and educational and career goals.

• Amanda Cook, a Carson High School graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno.

• Cassandra Larson, a CHS graduate, plans on attending Western Nevada Community College in Carson City.

• Jennifer McMenomy, a Galena High School graduate, plans on attending Brigham Young University at Rexburg, Idaho.

• Andrew Meyer is attending the University of Nevada, Reno and Truckee Meadows Community College.

• Chendra Arias, a West Wendover High School graduate, plans on attending Idaho State University at Pocatello.

• Cesar Duarte is attending Northeastern University at Boston.

• Kayla Dunn, a White Pine High School graduate, plans on attending Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.

• Jacob Wilcox, a WPH graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

• Gabe Grobben, a Douglas High School graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno.

• Brianna Nalder, a DHS graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno.

• Aaron Heinbaugh, a White Pine High School graduate, plans on attending Truckee Meadows Community College or the University of Nevada, Reno.

• Brady Johnson, a Lund High School graduate, plans on attending Great Basin Community College in Ely.

• Joshua Nieubuurt, a Dayton High School graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno or Western Nevada Community College in Carson City.

• Kesiena Onosigho, a Reed High School graduate, plans on attending the Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles.

• Eliana Sandoval, a Lowry High School graduate, plans on attending the University of Nevada, Reno.
