CAC membership info and season brochure coming soon

The Churchill Arts Council is wrapping up negotiations for its 2015 – 2016 programs and activities and membership information and a brochure for upcoming events will be available next month.

There will be an array of musical performances scheduled for the coming year. The next free summer in-the-park concert, on August 15, will feature Mike Zito and the Wheel, a performance by the artist who won a Blues Music Award for Best Rock/Blues Album.

Also included in the schedule are folk/Americana artists the Left Over Cuties in September and a show of Western Swing music with the Hot Club of Cowtown in October.

Popular vocalist, and former lead singer for Pink Martini, Storm Large, will be coming to the Oats Park Art Center in November and the eclectic Brooklyn-based musical collective, Band Magda, will be performing in February.

Rounding out the musical season will be shows of contemporary Middle Eastern music by Niyaz in April; new repertoire for cello with Break of Reality in May and a rousing outdoor show of Balkan Brass Band music with Slavic Soul Party.

Visual art exhibitions will include Reno artists Eunkang Koh, Timothy Conder/Nick Larsen/Omar Pierce, and Michelle Lassaline. There will also be shows of work by the Wyoming artist, Tawni Shuler; Sacramento painter, Mary Warner, and Montana fiber artist, Cathryn Mallory.

Membership in CAC is open to all individuals, businesses and organizations on an annual basis at a variety of levels.

Support, through membership, helps to insure that the Council is able to continue bringing the finest in arts programs to Fallon, Churchill County and northern Nevada. So please consider becoming a member of CAC.

The new brochure and 2015-2016 membership information is currently being prepared for the printer and if you are not on CAC’s mailing list and would like to receive this, call 775-423-1440 or email the Council at charts@phonewave.net,
