Commissioners meet Thursday morning

The first County Commission meeting of February will be conducted Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the Churchill County Administration Building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.

Among the items commissioners will discuss and that are up for possible actions include the following:

Consideration and possible action regarding update on Western Nevada Development District (WNDD) projects/activities.

Consideration and possible action regarding update on public land issues, PILT, geothermal, Secure Rural Schools (SRS), public land transfer, wild horse/burro and sage grouse and approval of payment of annual membership dues.

Consideration and possible action regarding resolution 02-2014 authorizing the Central Nevada Regional Water Authority (CNRWA) to join the lawsuit challenging the Department of Interior’s decision allowing right-or-way across lands for the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) Groundwater Development Project.

Consideration and possible action regarding resolution 03-2014 approving the lawsuit recently filed by NACO to compel the BLM to begin managing the wild horse populations in Nevada as directed by the Wild Free-Roaming Wild Horse and Burro Act.

Consideration and possible action regarding approval of Churchill County’s corrective action plan for fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, comprehensive annual financial statements by the Nevada Department of Taxation.

Consideration and possible action regarding change of date of the first regular monthly meeting scheduled for March 6.

Consideration and possible action regarding information systems contract agreement.

Consideration and possible action regarding approving the First Amendment to lease agreement with Duncan Golf Management, Inc.

Consideration and possible action regarding resolution 04-2014 approving that a credit assessed be applied to the parcel identified as APN: 008-391-4 for tax fiscal year 2014-2015.
