Both the boys and girls Greenwave varsity basketball teams kept Fallon’s winning streak going at Truckee on Friday.

The girls team remained undefeated after dominating the Lady Wolverines, 47-13, and the boys varsity Wave beat the Wolverines in a closer matchup, 63-53.

The Wave boys are now 7-10 overall and 4-4 in D1-A, while the Truckee boys’ team is 2-14 overall and 0-8. The Lady Wave are 17-0, 8-0 in league, while the Lady Wolverines are 9-8 overall and 3-4 in D1-A.

The Lady Wave’s next game is at home against Lowry, Saturday at 1 p.m.

Most of the Lady Wave’s senior squad scored, including Leilani Otuafi who led with 18 points, followed by Megan McCormick with 13 and Madison Perazzo with six. Otuafi made two 3-pointers, the only player to make a trey in the game, but tied with McCormick with six baskets for 12 points.

Fallon finished the first half in double figures, and scored 10 points in the first quarter and 20 in the second quarter including the first of Otuafi’s 3-pointers.

Fallon scored under 10 points in each pf the third and fourth quarters but still held Truckee under 10 points in each quarter.

The Lady Wolverines’ Maddie Monson was the main offensive threat and led Truckee with six points despite the Wave holding the Wolverines to two baskets in the first half. Truckee’s highest scoring quarter was in the third at six points from three baskets, but a comeback was too far out of reach and the Wolverines finished the fourth quarter with three points from a basket and a free throw.

The boys varsity game was a closer bout between the two teams. Though the Wave would not relinquish their lead in any quarter, both teams scored double figures in each quarter with the exception of the Wolverines, who were contained to six points in the third quarter after Fallon held the reigns at 32-19 in the first half.

Fallon’s Clay Davison led the Wave with 17 points. Connor Richardson followed with 13 and Kaleel Rickerson came in third with 10 points.

Truckee’s Jenner Tresan led the Wolverines with 15 points, followed by Justin Wadsworth at 11 points, while Gabe Cruz, Ben Miller, and Diego Abundiz tied for third at eight points each.
