Library offering exciting new service

Extended Reality, or XR, is now available at the library. This exciting service offers patrons and community education partners one stop access to virtual reality, mixed reality and augmented reality equipment, materials and resources. Provided by Lifeliqe, the collection is specially customized to support the learning and information needs of key user groups.

Who? XR is for everyone! Though initially the target audience will be ages 13 and up.
What? The Nevada State Library, XRLibraries and Lifeliqe have teamed up to bring immersive XR experiences and programming to libraries around Nevada, including Churchill County Library.
When? We are up and running now. Stop by the library to sign up for a trial of this emerging technology.
Where? Currently, there are 11 libraries that have received XR equipment; including the Churchill County Library and the Churchill County School District.

Why? Libraries have always been on the cutting-edge of technological deployment. Now, more than ever, success in school and work is dependent on technological literacy and hands-on experience. Our XR program is designed to better acquaint Nevadans with this new technology and broaden their horizons of what is possible in the 21st century.
The Business Resource and Workforce Development Center provides online resources and information for starting a business, building a business, career opportunities, and workforce development training opportunities. Databases included are Lynda.com, the go-to place to learn software, creative, and business skills to achieve your personal and professional goals; Small Business Center Reference Center, which contains information on a wide array of small business topics including legal information, how-to guides and more; and Headed2, the place to explore more than 900 careers, countless educational and certification opportunities, or learn more about yourself and the careers made for you by taking a self-assessment. Links are also included to local and state agencies to assist in your business needs and much more.
