Nevada installs new basketball court

Staff Report
The University of Nevada has installed a new basketball court.

The University of Nevada basketball teams will have a new playing surface at Lawlor Events Center beginning this season as a new court was installed last week.

The brand new court is constructed of first-grade Northern Hard Maple wood and features a sleek new design featuring key elements highlighting the University and its athletic program.

The center court design features the state of Nevada in silver with the official Wolf Pack athletics logo inside. The school’s popular hashtag “#BatteBorn” and the University’s founding — “Est. 1874” are painted on the court as well. Each of the keys is stained with silver as well. The baselines spell out “Nevada” and “Wolf Pack” on each end.

The court was manufactured by Connor Sports and comes with a projected lifespan of 15-20 years. When broken down, the entirety of the court is made up of 340 different pieces. The cost of the court was approximately $140,000. The court has extensions on two sides to allow for additional hoops for practice.
